18 Months

There's video coming, hopefully tomorrow.

Daniel is growing by leaps and bounds. We can barely keep up with what he's learning.

His vocabulary has doubled in the past 10 days. Before, he was saying "me-ma" and "da-da", also "hi" and "bye". He would also say "too", referring to the elevator buttons in Rob's office.

In the past week, we can add "uh-oh", "bah" (ball), "daw!" (dog), "wow", and "wee" (as in "this is fun!"). I think I also heard him say "swee" (swing) today, mimicking the voice on the Baby Wordsworth DVD he watches in the car.

But he understands a WHOLE lot. I mean, the boy hears fluent English and sometimes even listens. At first, we were surprised when he would identify a few pictures in one of his books by pointing. But, a few days later, we discovered that knows our cats and all eight of his classmates by name. He knows his bed by "crib" and "bed". He knows where to go to take his zyrtec, where his sippy cup is, and where his chair is at the kitchen table. He waits where he stands when asked to do so. He knows "sit down" and "get off mommy's table." He knows "go for two" means to throw a ball at the basketball hoop. And that's just him getting started.

Daniel LOVES balls, dogs of all sizes, and goldfish crackers. He's also fond of lining objects up in lines according to size and will pick objects from a group according to size or color. And he loves the sound of his own voice...and the louder the better at times

On the not so cool side, we had planned to be in Wyoming this week, but our plans fell through after Rob broke his leg playing ultimate frisbee. He won't be able to walk for 12 whole weeks. The good news is that Daniel's too young to understand that we were going on a trip...he isn't disappointed. Mom and Dad...well, yeah.
