Daniel's First Vacation

Daniel is now 5 months old. And so much happened in the last week.

Have you seen my...?

He took his first plane ride last Saturday, a direct flight on JetBlue from New Orleans to JFK. He loved it. The airports. Going through security. Riding on the plane. Loved. Loved. Loved!

Kayla and Daniel.

He met his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Daniel with Grandpa Robert and Grandma Diane.

And grandparents too.

He hung out in rooms full of people. He started eating two servings of cereal per day. He tried sweet potatoes.

Cool. Pokey. Green.

He dipped his toes in the pool. He met a sweet little doggy named Sophia. He listened to the big kids fight with great interest.

Coolest. Toy. Ever.

He found the balance to sit all by himself.

I like hanging upside down!

And he really enjoyed spending a week with Mommy and Daddy.

We think he might have gotten overwhelmed by it all on Thursday. Either that or the sweet potatoes gave him gas. He got fussy, stayed fussy for several hours, and threw up twice. Cousin Alicia called Annalese's nurse, who told us to give him pedialyte for a few hours. But by the next morning, he was fine.

The trip home wasn't as fun. Our flight left JFK at 8 p.m., which is Daniel's bedtime, so he was a little cranky. But takeoff was delayed by half-an-hour due to our being 21st in the queue to leave, so he was asleep by the time we were in the air. And he pretty much stayed asleep until we got home.

Today is a little rough. He's tired, but seems to be afraid he'll miss something. So he's wide awake and cranky. I think things will fall back into place tomorrow.

Looks like everyone had a wonderful time in NY. I can't believe how fast time has gone and how old he is now. Wow. Still a little cutie. Gonna be a heart breaker.
