Merry Christmas

Where did December go?

Daniel loves his cousin Kayla. Their first play together, he stood on the outside of Kayla's saucer and shook it back and forth. Kayla thought it was hilarious. They mostly "parallel play", but 10 days later, they were wrestling on the floor.

We've been on Long Island since December 19th, hopping between Missy's, Alicia's, and Aunt Annette's houses. There was several inches of wet snow on the ground when we arrived. By Christmas, it was mostly melted; on New Years Eve, it started up again. But Doppler shows the storm cell over eastern Long Island now, so it should be clear enough to attend Alicia's party.

Daniel likes Aunt Melisa's ottoman. And her area rug.

I like the area rug too. I think we need to get one when we get home. Like right when we get home.

Poor tuckered-out baby.

Daniel fell asleep at 6:30 on Christmas Eve. Mommy had to wake him up at 8:00 so he could enjoy playing with his cousins...(and maybe not wake up at midnight.)

He was groggy for about 5 minutes, making me think that maybe getting him up was a futile exercise, but suddenly...he perked up. He romped around like a mad demon until...you guessed it...midnight. We thought he was distracted by the people and the noise. Nope. Hungry. Gave him a bottle and he passed out for 7 hours.

Pretty Little Miss Kayla.

Kayla wore the cutest little Santa dress for Christmas day.

This one is going to be passed around at Christmas twenty years from now when they bring dates home for the holidays. :)

Grandma Diane threw Daniel an early first birthday party. His birthday prince crown didn't quite fit and he kept pulling it off. He thought the attention was odd but interesting.

Diane doesn't bake, so Mommy put her 4 years of bakery service to good work. (I can still draw!)

Daniel liked the cake more than the icing. (Mommy and Daddy do too!)

Merry Christmas, Everyone! And Happy New Year!
