Daniel had an exciting week. The early days were spent recovering from the adventures of last week. Thursday, he spent an hour with his new teachers and nursery friends. And today, he spent the whole morning. He took three naps in his nursery crib, impressed his teacher by eating all 5 oz of his bottle, and his "baby gram" says he was all smiles.
He did a few very cute things this week.
You lay him down on your lap and put your thumbs in his hands, then gently pull him up to sit and gently lower him back down. Repeat this a few times. Then just let him lay there. He will pull on your thumbs with both arms and stick his chin out, trying to sit up on his own.
Then today, at daycare, Ms. Vicki was holding him after taking him out of the car seat. I hadn't even made a move to leave. He looks at me with these huge eyes and popped out his lower lip. Then he laughed, and then popped out his lip. He was laughing and pouting at the same time. Ms. Vicki and I couldn't stop laughing.
He also saw the doctor today. We told him that ALL of Daniel's symptoms went away by Sunday and he informed us that our little monkey has a milk allergy. SO...Daniel will be staying on the hypoallergenic formula. The doctor said no soy...there's a 50-50 chance that he's also sensitive to soy so that won't help. He said that we will still try giving him milk at one year. Hopefully, he will have outgrown it by then.
He was weighed and measured. He's 11 lbs 15 oz and 24 inches long. (He gained 13 oz this week.)
And he got his first set of shots today. He did well. He was fussy earlier, tired as hell but fighting it, and he didn't seem to want to move his legs much. But he's sleeping now. I'm crossing my fingers that he'll get through it without a fever.
